Welcome back to Smiling Through Tears!
This past weekend was pretty uneventful. I spent sometime with my sister, who is 31 weeks pregnant. She has been having issues with her pregnancy from the very beginning and very nervous. The baby is healthy and slowly growing but she has what’s called Fetal Growth Restriction; Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR); Small for Gestational Age. There is also a placental blood flow issue that she is seeing a high risk OB/GYN for. She will be induced between 34-38 weeks to prevent placental abruption. She goes for ultrasounds twice a week to monitor the placental blood flow and every two weeks for fetal measurements. Last week during one of the ultrasounds, the baby was in the downward dog position and threw up a peace sign. My entire family laughed when we heard this. This morning, the baby was floating around with his feet in his mouth. Over the weekend my sister asked me to be in the labor and delivery room with her and my brother in-law. I am so excited and feel extremely honored. The relationship between my sister and I has been very complicated until the past year. Since I can’t have my own biological children, I am so excited to be able to experience this with her. So excited!
Saturday, I went over to my parent’s house to play with their puppy. My parent’s have an invisible fence so I was outside playing fetch with her to get her use to the yard. Today, my mom was doing yard work and sent me several pictures of her roaming around and then one of her passed out from all of the excitement.
Yesterday, I went grocery shopping and worked out. I have a friend who works at the grocery store so I stopped and talked to him for a few minutes before I checked out. That is literally the extent to my day.
Today, I woke up and felt really motivated to get things done. I dusted and vacuumed, cleaned the hardwood floors, worked out, took a neighbors dog for a walk around noon, showered, napped and now I’m blogging. I have a bad headache coming on so hopefully that goes away soon.
That’s a wrap! I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great day today!
